Meadow Springs lies on Binjareb Noongar country, on the gently undulating coastal plain just inland from the Peel estuary and the Indian Ocean, a landscape of tuart woodland, wetlands and shallow lakes long cared for by local people.
The suburb name was chosen for the parkland character of the area, reflecting the springs, wetlands and green open spaces planned through the estate. The name was formally approved around 1990 as the new community took shape.
Development began in the late 1980s as a master planned estate built around the Meadow Springs golf course, which opened in 1987 to a Robert Trent Jones Jnr design set among two hundred year old tuart trees and open bushland.
Today Meadow Springs is a settled family suburb within the City of Mandurah, with a local shopping centre, several schools, the popular Quarry Adventure Park and quiet streets of homes wrapped around lakes, reserves and the golf course.
For families across this part of the Peel region, an outdoor cinema night is an easy run south of our Kwinana base, charged at a simple flat rate of $4/km.
