Como was named after Lake Como in Italy by early developers promoting the riverside district, and it grew through the early twentieth century as a residential extension of South Perth.
Its position on the Swan River foreshore made it a desirable address, and homes and tree-lined streets steadily filled the gentle slopes running down to the water.
Neil McDougall Park, once part of a dairy farm and sold to South Perth in 1954, became one of Como best-loved green spaces around its central lake.
Today Como blends its established leafy character with newer apartment living near Canning Highway, while remaining one of the City of South Perth most settled riverside suburbs.
It is an easy run for us up the freeway, with the modest travel built into the quote and no weekend loadings.
