Perth's summer is about as friendly to outdoor cinema as any climate on earth: hot, dry and settled, with rain a genuine rarity from December to February. The real variables are heat early in the evening, which fades as the sun drops, and the sea breeze, the Fremantle Doctor, which can pick up on a hot afternoon and is worth planning seating around. In rough order of how early they go: New Year's Eve first, then the weekends either side of Christmas, then Australia Day, then Valentine's, then the Saturdays across the December and January school holidays.
