Fantastic communication, fast and easy set up all done for us and simple instructions for us to follow, the bean bags were a great added touch to the whole outdoor movie experience. Would highly recommend and definitely use again!"
Aubin Grove was approved as a suburb in 2003, drawn out of the former rural locality of Banjup. It is named after Henry John Aubin, an early Cockburn pioneer settler, and was developed as part of the City of Cockburn push to urbanise its eastern greenfield land.
Growth here was rapid. The suburb went from just a few hundred residents in 2006 to nearly 6,800 by 2021, making it one of the larger and more established estates in Cockburn southern growth belt, with later stages rolling out south of Gaebler Road and west of the Kwinana Freeway.
A turning point was the opening of Aubin Grove Railway Station, in the adjoining suburb of Atwell, in April 2017. On the Mandurah line, it gave the estate a fast rail link to both Perth and Mandurah. Aubin Grove Primary School, opened in 2011, has grown into one of WA larger primary schools.
For outdoor cinema, Aubin Grove offers a sweet spot of established, generous backyards, flat blocks and a strong family demographic, with active school and community groups that lend themselves to movie-night fundraisers.
And like its neighbour Hammond Park, Aubin Grove sits only about 15km up the freeway from our Kwinana base, comfortably inside the 20km free-delivery zone, so the 3m backyard screen is delivered free, the same as nearby Success.
