Perth Pop-Up Movies
Both options cost the same ($150 with fuel included) and both power a full outdoor cinema setup without any issues. The difference is where and how they perform. This guide breaks it down so you pick the right one for your event.
Answer four questions and we will tell you which option fits best.
A petrol generator runs at roughly 65 to 75 decibels at one metre, comparable to a normal conversation. Positioned 10 to 15 metres from the audience (behind the screen), it blends into the background once the film audio starts. For a backyard in suburbs like Applecross, Cottesloe or Kwinana where neighbours are close, the silent inverter removes any concern.
Venues such as halls and community centres often prohibit petrol-powered equipment indoors or in enclosed outdoor areas, making the silent inverter the only practical option. Check your venue’s conditions before booking either option. WA Consumer Protection has guidance on event safety requirements.
Both are priced at $150 and include everything needed to run the cinema. The generator price includes petrol. The inverter price includes a full charge. Neither requires anything from you on the night.
Power is included as an add-on to any cinema package. If your venue has a power outlet you trust, you may not need either option. Let us know when you enquire and we will advise.
